It was a very happy day for all as we picked up our first batch of upcycled garments which uses end of life corporate uniforms that would otherwise be sent to landfill from Earthlink Apparel in Lower Hutt. This has been months of hard work for all the team involved:

  • Patricia Given: technical delivery/quality control manager
  • Shirley Cressy: Earthlink CEO
  • Jennifer Whitty & Holly McQullian: designers/quality control
  • Julie Lintern, Cheryl Cherry, Metiu, Sheena Tanoa: Earthlink Apparel.

Working with post consumer waste is a very time consuming process- quite different to a typical fashion production process model. It's been a steep learning curve for all, but it's all been worth it in the end! Everyone is so proud of what they have made. Looking forward to creating more garments in the future :)

This was Earthlink's first manufacturing contract.
