Space Between’s pieced black leggings is made out of up-cycled corporate uniform waste. The ‘previous life’ garments used were the NZ Post ‘black sleeveless wrap top with tie’ and ‘dark sand mid sleeve poloneck top’. The additional yellow knit fabric on the cuff is made with end of stock fabric merino made in New Zealand.
This garment is made using the pieced technique as developed at Space Between (Jennifer Whitty and Holly McQuillan). This method utilises damaged garments and offcuts it is however the most time consuming upcycling process.
Main fabric: 100% merino (up-cycled from corporate uniforms).
Binding: yellow merino (end of stock).
Garment manufacturing: Made in New Zealand by the not for profit Earthlink Apparel.
